About docivault
Who builds docivault?
Why this exists
The tools people reach for were never built for exchanging documents with someone outside their team
Email attachments have no access control once sent. WhatsApp has no structure and no record of who saw what. A shared drive folder works until the wrong person is given access to the whole folder instead of one file. Each of these tools is good at what it was designed for, and none of them was designed for this. docivault is built around the exchange itself — one workspace, the people you exchange documents with as contacts, and a record of what moved and when.
Who is behind it
One person building it is the reason this site is unusually specific about what is finished
docivault is built by Rounak Maheshwari — self-funded, without outside investment. A small product built by one person cannot afford a reputation for overpromising, so this site labels every capability by its real status instead of describing what is planned as if it already existed. The roadmap page lists everything that is available now, in progress, coming soon, and on the roadmap with no date attached.
Questions
What people ask about who builds this
Is docivault backed by investors?
No. It is self-funded, without outside investment. There is no fundraising story to tell and none to invent.
Does one person build and run all of docivault?
Yes, today. That is also why the roadmap page exists — it is a checkable record of what one person has actually finished, rather than a promise about a team that does not exist.
Will docivault stay horizontal, or eventually specialise in one industry?
It stays horizontal. Professional services, healthcare, education and the rest are example audiences on the use-cases pages, never the definition of the product — docivault is built for the exchange itself, not for one profession.
See what is actually built, and try it yourself
