Here is what a team of five and a team of ten actually costs on a tool that bills per seat, next to a flat docivault workspace.

This compares price only, and only fairly if document exchange is what you need. TaxDome and Karbon are complete practice-management suites — invoicing, time tracking, e-signature and workflow automation, all shipped — and docivault has none of that. It does document exchange, and that part is built.

How the limits work
A seat is your team; a contact is who you exchange documents with — only one of those is priced
Seats vs. contacts
A seat is a person inside your own organisation — a colleague you invite to the workspace. A contact is someone outside it that you exchange documents with. Seats count against your plan’s limit; contacts never do, on any paid plan, no matter how many you add.
If you reach a limit
The seat and storage figures describe each plan’s shape, not an active wall. Once billing ships, adding a seat or storing more than your plan allows will require moving to a plan with room.
If you stop paying
Nothing today, since nothing is charged. When billing ships, a lapsed workspace will drop to the Free plan’s limits rather than being deleted, and you keep read access to your documents.

Can I sign up for Starter, Pro or White-Label today?
Not yet — billing has not shipped, so every signup today creates a Free workspace. The Starter, Pro and White-Label prices on this page are locked in for when billing goes live; you will be able to move to the plan you want at exactly these numbers.
Why is docivault priced per workspace instead of per seat?
Because the alternative punishes a team for growing. TaxDome and Karbon charge roughly $66 and $59 per person, per month, so the bill climbs every time you add someone. A docivault workspace has one flat price no matter how many of your own seats are filled, up to the plan's limit.
Are the people I exchange documents with ever billed?
No. Contacts are unlimited and free on every paid plan. You pay for your own team’s seats, never for the people you serve.
What happens if my team outgrows a plan’s seat or storage limit?
Once billing ships, you will need to move to a plan with room before adding another seat or storing more than its limit.
